Carnival Triumph moved into its new home on Mondayย at the Erato Street cruise terminal in New Orleans.ย In celebration of the Carnival Triumph’s arrival at the Port of New Orleans, festivities included representatives from four local music organizations who participatedย in fun competitions to raise money to donateย to local music charities. There was also the traditional plaque and key exchange between city officials and the ship’s captain.

The 2,754 passenger Carnival Triumph now offersย year-round cruises from New Orleans that include four-dayย weekendย cruises departing on Thursdays that visit Cozumel. Longer 5-day cruises leave New Orleans on Mondays and Saturdays and stop at Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico.

After a recent and extensive refurbishment, theย Triumph now has many of Carnival’s signature features includingย Guyโ€™s Burger Joint, theย poolsideย BlueIguana Tequila Bar and RedFrog Rum Bar plusย the BlueIguana Cantina Mexican outdoor buffet. There’s theย pharmacy-themed Alchemy Bar, and Cherry On Top candy store.

Another Carnival ship sailing year-round from Port of New Orleans is the Carnival Dream. With a capacity of 3,646 passengers, the Carnival Dream offers 7-night cruises with three different itineraries to the Bahamas, western Caribbean and Central America.

Sunday departures on the Carnival Dream to the Bahamas visit Key West, Freeport and Nassau, Bahamas. The western Caribbean cruises stop at Montego Bay, Jamaica; Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Cruises heading to Central America call at Cozumel, Belize City, Belize and Roatan, Honduras.
